Nina Dolcetti SS10
Nina Dolcetti shoes represent a new breed of conscious design, she confidently walks the line between decadent pleasures and environmental awareness......'a beautiful shoe that pushes the boundaries, but is always elegant and wearable and that makes use of what is already there...'
Elisalex Grunfeld de Castro is Head Designer of Nina Dolcetti. She graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2005 before launching this high-end, luxury, upcycled footwear range at Estethica at London Fashion Week in September 2008. As stated on the Nina Dolcetti website, 'Nina' is her family nickname, and 'Dolcetti' her grandmother's maiden name, and together means 'little sweets' which is "the perfect metaphor for the pleasure, form and joy that shoes in a modern woman's wardrobe signify. "
Handmade in London,Nina Dolcetti shoes are made of off-cuts and unwanted pre-consumer waste. The collection has also introduced a range of ethically sourced vegetable tanned leathers. Also the heels and wedges are created from sustainably sourced cork and wood with the soles comprise largely of recycled leather.
Nina Dolcetti shoes are so beautiful, both in their design and their ethics.
